Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 15 oz tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme optional
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional for heat

Instructions
  

Heat Olive Oil

  • In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat for one minute.

Add Garlic

  • Add minced garlic to oil. Sauté for one minute until fragrant.

Add Tomato Paste

  • Add tomato paste. Cook for one minute, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

Add Tomato Sauce

  • Add tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes. Stir until smooth.

Add Onion Powder

  • Sprinkle in onion powder for mild sweetness. Stir well.

Add Sugar

  • Add sugar to balance acidity. Mix thoroughly.

Add Herbs

  • Add oregano, basil, thyme (optional) and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.

Add Salt and Pepper

  • Season with salt and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Simmer Sauce

  • Simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally for smooth, thick sauce.

Blend (Optional)

  • For extra smooth texture, use a blender or food processor. Blend until desired consistency.

Cool Sauce

  • Remove from heat. Let sauce cool slightly before spreading on pizza.

Use or Store

  • Use immediately on pizza or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
