Ingredients

  • 4 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Set oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Low temperature helps brisket cook slowly and become tender.

Prepare the Spice Rub

  • Mix smoked paprika, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and chili powder in a small bowl.

Season the Brisket

  • Rub spice mixture over the entire brisket evenly. Press gently so seasoning sticks well to meat.

Heat the Pan

  • Place a large skillet on medium-high heat. Add olive oil and let it heat properly.

Sear the Brisket

  • Sear brisket for several minutes on each side until deep brown crust forms beautifully.

Prepare the Roasting Pan

  • Place sliced onions and minced garlic in roasting pan. They create flavor and moisture while cooking.

Add the Brisket

  • Transfer seared brisket into roasting pan carefully. Place it directly over onions and garlic.

Make the Sauce

  • Mix beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar together in a bowl.

Pour Sauce Over Meat

  • Pour sauce mixture over brisket evenly. This keeps the meat juicy and flavorful during roasting.

Cover and Bake

  • Cover roasting pan tightly with foil. Bake for about 4 hours until brisket becomes fork-tender.

Rest the Brisket

  • Remove brisket from oven and let rest for 15 minutes before slicing for juicy results.

Slice and Serve

  • Slice brisket against the grain carefully. Spoon extra sauce over top before serving warm.

Notes

  • Always slice brisket against the grain for tenderness.
  • Let brisket rest before cutting to keep juices inside.
  • Add liquid smoke for stronger BBQ flavor.
  • Use homemade barbecue sauce for richer taste.
  • Cook overnight for even softer texture.
  • Add carrots and potatoes for complete meal.
  • Use smoker instead of oven for authentic BBQ flavor.
  • Baste brisket during cooking for extra moisture.
  • Store leftovers for sandwiches the next day.
  • Add spicy peppers for more heat and flavor.
