Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground chicken or pork
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce optional
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
  

Heat the pan

  • Place a large skillet or wok on medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil and sesame oil. Let them heat until slightly shimmering.

Cook the meat

  • Add ground chicken or pork into the pan. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces.

Add onion, garlic and ginger

  • Stir in chopped onion, garlic and ginger. Cook for three minutes until fragrant and slightly softened.

Add vegetables

  • Add shredded cabbage and carrots into the pan. Stir well and cook for five minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.

Add sauces

  • Pour in soy sauce, rice vinegar and chili garlic sauce. Mix well so all ingredients are coated evenly.

Cook briefly

  • Cook for another two to three minutes. Let the flavors combine and the sauce slightly reduce.

Taste and adjust

  • Taste the mixture. Add salt and pepper if needed. Adjust spice level according to your preference.

Add green onions

  • Stir in sliced green onions. This adds freshness and mild onion flavor to the dish.

Garnish and serve
