Ingredients
  

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter

For the Creamy Sauce:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese optional

Instructions
  

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a baking dish lightly with butter or oil.

Prepare Chicken

  • Place chicken breasts between parchment paper. Pound gently to ½-inch thickness.

Layer Ham and Cheese

  • Place a slice of ham and Swiss cheese on each chicken breast. Fold or roll chicken to enclose filling.

Season and Coat

  • Sprinkle salt, pepper and flour over chicken rolls. Pat lightly for even coating.

Sear Chicken

  • Heat butter in skillet over medium heat. Brown chicken rolls on all sides for 2–3 minutes.

Prepare Creamy Sauce

  • In mixing bowl, whisk together cream, chicken broth, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.

Pour Sauce Over Chicken

  • Place seared chicken in baking dish. Pour creamy sauce evenly over rolls. Sprinkle Parmesan if using.

Bake in Oven

  • Bake 25–30 minutes until chicken is cooked through and sauce is bubbling.

Rest Before Serving

  • Let chicken rest 5 minutes before slicing. This keeps juices inside.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve creamy chicken cordon bleu with rice, mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
