Deviled Egg Christmas Trees Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 12 large eggs
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill or parsley finely chopped
  • Green food coloring optional
  • Red bell pepper tiny cubes for decorations
  • Yellow bell pepper or corn for star topping

Instructions
  

Boil the eggs

  • Place eggs in a pot. Cover with water. Boil for 10 minutes until fully cooked.

Cool the eggs

  • Transfer eggs to cold water. Let them cool completely before peeling.

Peel the eggs

  • Remove shells carefully. Rinse eggs to remove shell pieces.

Cut the eggs

  • Slice eggs in half lengthwise. Remove yolks gently into a bowl.

Make the filling

  • Mash yolks with fork. Add mayo, mustard, salt, pepper and garlic powder.

Add color and herbs

  • Mix chopped dill or parsley. Add a drop of green food coloring if desired.

Prepare piping bag

  • Fill piping bag or zip bag with egg mixture. Cut a small tip.

Create tree shape

  • Pipe filling in layers, starting wide at bottom, smaller at top.

Decorate the trees

  • Add tiny red pepper cubes as ornaments. Place yellow pepper as star.

Chill before serving

  • Refrigerate for 15 minutes. Serve cold for best taste and shape.

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt instead of mayo for a healthier version.
  • Add avocado for green color and creamy texture.
  • Add smoked paprika for light smoky flavor.
  • Use spinach puree for natural green color.
