Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs or fresh parsley, thyme, rosemary
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional topping

Instructions
  

Preheat oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

Mix dry ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and dried herbs. Stir well.

Combine wet ingredients

  • In a medium bowl, whisk melted butter, milk, eggs and minced garlic until smooth.

Add wet to dry

  • Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Fold in cheddar cheese

  • Add shredded cheddar cheese. Mix carefully to distribute evenly.

Prepare loaf pan

  • Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Optional topping

  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese or extra cheddar on top for a golden crust.

Bake the bread

  • Place pan in the oven. Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool the bread

  • Allow bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
