Ingredients

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz bow tie farfalle pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 2 cups fresh spinach

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil or Italian seasoning

Optional Add-ins:

  • Cooked chicken shrimp, or bacon bits
  • Extra Parmesan for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook bow tie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Garlic

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add Vegetables

  • Add cherry tomatoes and spinach to the skillet. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until spinach wilts and tomatoes soften slightly.

Make the Sauce

  • Reduce heat to low. Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Stir until sauce thickens slightly.

Combine Pasta and Sauce

  • Add cooked bow tie pasta to the skillet. Toss well until pasta is coated with creamy sauce.

Adjust Seasoning

  • Taste pasta and adjust salt, pepper or cheese as needed.

Add Protein (Optional)

  • If using chicken, shrimp or bacon, add it now. Toss to combine evenly.

Serve

  • Plate the pasta in bowls. Sprinkle extra Parmesan and fresh herbs if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version
  • Add roasted red peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor
  • Swap spinach for arugula for a peppery taste
  • Use gluten-free pasta if needed
  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for a bright touch
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for slight heat
  • Make it vegetarian by skipping any meat add-ins
