Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary or fresh herbs
  • Sea salt for topping

Instructions
  

Activate Yeast

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast and sugar. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

Mix Dough

  • Add flour, salt, and 1/4 cup olive oil to yeast mixture. Stir until dough forms.

Knead Dough

  • Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

First Rise

  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with towel and let rise 45 minutes to 1 hour until doubled.

Prepare Pan

  • Grease a baking sheet or pan with olive oil.

Shape Dough

  • Press dough into the pan to form a rectangle or oval shape.

Dimple Dough

  • Use fingers to press dimples into the dough evenly.

Add Toppings

  • Drizzle olive oil over dough. Sprinkle herbs and sea salt on top.

Second Rise

  • Cover and let dough rise 20–30 minutes until slightly puffy.

Bake

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake focaccia 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

Cool

  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly before slicing.

Serve

  • Serve warm as a side, sandwich base or appetizer.
