Ingredients

  • 2 cups dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes

Instructions

Prepare the Tray

  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper. This prevents sticking and helps remove the bark easily.

Melt Dark Chocolate

  • Place dark chocolate chips in a bowl. Microwave in short intervals, stirring until fully melted and smooth.

Spread First Layer

  • Pour melted dark chocolate onto tray. Spread evenly using a spatula to form the base layer.

Chill the Layer

  • Place tray in refrigerator for 10–15 minutes. Let the chocolate set but not fully hard.

Melt White Chocolate

  • In another bowl, melt white chocolate chips. Stir until smooth and creamy without lumps.

Add Peppermint Flavor

  • Mix peppermint extract into melted white chocolate. Stir gently to combine the flavor evenly.

Spread Second Layer

  • Pour white chocolate over dark layer. Spread gently to avoid mixing layers too much.

Add Peppermint Topping

  • Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top. Press lightly so they stick to the chocolate.

Chill Until Set

  • Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes until fully set and firm.

Break and Serve

  • Break into pieces using hands or knife. Serve and enjoy this festive treat.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for best taste
  • Do not overheat chocolate while melting
  • Add food coloring to white chocolate for fun look
  • Use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate
  • Add nuts for extra crunch
  • Store in cool place to prevent melting
  • Use peppermint oil for stronger flavor
