  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon sugar optional, to balance acidity
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • ½ cup heavy cream optional
  • 1 tablespoon butter optional

Instructions
  

Prepare Tomatoes

  • If using fresh tomatoes, chop them into chunks.

Roast for Flavor (Optional)
